My wedding photography career began back in Leeds, working across the area as a Yorkshire Wedding Photographer in and around West Yorkshire. Now I take my wedding photography all over Yorkshire including Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster, Dewsbury and Huddersfield.

What to expect from your Wakefield Wedding Photographer
Before the big day, we will meet to discuss your expectations and preferences for your wedding portfolio.
Even if you don’t have any specific requirements, that’s fine too, we’ll be able to explore styles of wedding images so that you can point out images you like from my portfolio to define your preferred photography taste and look.
My role as your Wakefield Wedding Photographer
To create your visual story. It’s my job to show the story of your big day. Your wedding portfolio will tell your story. It can be an emotional and overwhelming day, so many couples end up losing some of the memories of their special day, but my photography will act as your memory!

From the pride of the father of the bride walking you down the aisle, to the smiling tears of your family and friends at the ceremony.
Friends jostling to get their picture of you cutting the cake to the laughter at the wedding speeches.
The moment you kiss after you’re pronounced as a married couple, to your first dance.
I like to get a mixture of candid shots and arranged photographs, that way you will get all the images you crave.

This is written from my perspective as a professional Wakefield Wedding Photographer having worked at many of these wedding venues over the years. Burntwood Court Hotel
Set within 35 acres of manicured grounds, Burntwood Court in Barnsley offers the ideal combination of fine dining, modern facilities, and exceptional service with attention to detail to match. With a number of banqueting suites and restaurants, the staff at Burntwood Court can tailor your day to accommodate your party of guests. Wedding guests can even access The Spa & The Club fitness centre throughout the duration of their stay to ensure your special day is remembered by all. Should you wish to have a civil marriage ceremony on the grounds itself, the Hotel offers for the full service so long as it is followed by a wedding reception after. Included in your special day are a flowered archway, hire of the reception room, a red-carpet entrance, and both a complimentary drink and accommodation for the Bride & Groom.
Cedar Court Hotel Wakefield
Located just off the M1 with extensive free car parking, Cedar Court Hotels Wakefield is a well-established four-star hotel that encapsulates the hospitality and warmth of the greater Yorkshire area. Their wedding coordinators pride themselves on their ability to hold not only traditional weddings but civil partnerships, civil ceremonies, and multicultural weddings to make your day exactly as you dreamed. The venue itself has a selection of stylish and elegant function suites catering from the smallest intimate weddings to grand large-scale celebrations with a bespoke wedding package available to meet your needs. Newly landscaped gardens also offer the perfect backdrop for your wedding reception drinks and provide an ideal stage for your wedding photography. When the night winds down, there are 149 rooms available for guests, ranging from standard twins to doubles to spacious family rooms and suites.
Cockley Woodland Wedding

Opt for a whimsical fairy tale affair in this truly unique Woodland wedding venue. Once part of the Whitley Beaumont Estate, this mature and historic woodland dates back to the 1790s. It is conveniently placed on the hills between Wakefield and Huddersfield and offers extensive views over the countryside. As a blank canvas, whatever your thoughts about your big day are, the team at Cockley Woodland Weddings are happy to chat through them. For the ceremony itself, it’s held undercover with handmade woodland seating and again, is tailored to your needs as well – whether that’s handfasting, a unity candle ceremony, jumping the broom, or just a simple blessing. Another dedicated area of woodland, beneath large mature oak, sycamore, and ash trees is devoted to the reception/ party. Along with handmade woodland furniture, there are hammocks, a fire pit, and a child’s play area. Whatever you desire, Sarah, the owner, has a range of options to create a unique and perfect event.
Dimple Well Lodge Hotel
Set in the rural and tranquil village of Ossett in West Yorkshire, the grounds and facilities of Dimple Well Lodge Hotel are designed to invoke a relaxed atmosphere and allow you to host an unforgettable event. Dating back to the Victorian era, this building used to be a manager’s house for local factories; it then became a family home before becoming a guest house and, eventually, a hotel in 1995. Harby’s restaurant on-site brings you real home cooking with locally sourced produce and caters for all events at the hotel, remaining flexible on what you’d like to have on your big day. The function suite on-site can be partnered with the restaurant to provide additional spacing and there is a private bar, illuminate patio terrace, and adaptable dance floor should you need it. Whether you want to simply relax with your reception drinks or mingle and catch up with friends and family, your memories at Dimple Well Lodge are sure to last a lifetime.
Hatfeild Hall
Approached from a long, sweeping, tree-lined driveway, Hatfeild Hall is an attractive and historic eighteenth-century building. With an eighteen-hole golf course on either side and an impressive fountain in the front garden, it is truly a hidden gem. The stunning surrounds and features, including a mulberry bush and intricate architecture, provide a great backdrop for your wedding photos too. With rooms of varying sizes, the venue can be altered to accommodate the numbers involved in your wedding party. Further, with excellent on-site catering facilities, the team at Hatfeild Hall offer the choice of standard menus or one tailored to your specific needs. To discuss any requirements further, simply contact their office to arrange an appointment to view the facilities.Hatfeild House is a really interesting venue and the ideal backdrop for wedding photography from my view as a Wakefield Wedding Photographer.
Heath Cottage Hotel
With excellent standards, both when it comes to cuisine and service, Heath Cottage understands the importance of choosing the right venue for your big day – that’s why they offer an experienced personal team to assist you in the planning of your entire day. During the day, this venue can host up to 65 guests while in the evening this figure extends to 100 guests. Importantly, the cottage is located in Dewsbury, a charming minster town enhanced by its spectacular Victorian architecture. Built in 1850, the cottage itself is a fine example of said architecture. Both the main Victorian residence and original coaching house have been converted and extended while retaining and actually enhancing the original features and character of the property. Further, with 27 ensuite rooms, you and your guests are guaranteed to be comfortable, relaxed, and enjoy a memorable stay.
The Hepworth Wakefield
The Hepworth, Wakefield is a museum that everyone dreams of having on their doorsteps. Their multi-award-winning galleries and function spaces are the perfect way to celebrate your special day. The venue combines stylish design with world-class twentieth-century British art and contemporary exhibitions to make for the perfect location for a modern event. Whether it be a civil ceremony, civil partnership, vow renewal, or a reception, their team is set on ensuring you have the time of your life. To remember the day, there are many very photogenic locations in and around the site, including the waterfront, bridge, boatyard, adjacent historic mills and a newly opened garden space with sculptures inside. Their vast experience in event planning and delivery ensures they are also able to recommend suppliers and added extra to make your day all the more unique and to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
The Holmfield Arms
Set in picturesque parkland, The Holmfield Arms, belonging to Greene King Inns, has two beautiful reception venues for you to choose from. There is also the option of an elegant marquee, ideal for larger parties, to allow you to celebrate with up to 120 guests. The team at the Holmfield Arms work with you to discuss the main elements of your chosen package and ensure each detail matches your budget and requirements. Given their primary function as a restaurant, the staff at the Holmfield Arms are experts at creating delicious traditional menus that you and your guests will love, all freshly prepared and cooked on site. To assist with the transportation of these guests, the pub is in a convenient location and offers lots of parking on-site as well as 42 bedrooms should they wish to spend the night.
The Kings Croft Hotel
Having hosted weddings for over 15 years, Kings Croft Hotel prides themselves on their flexible approach to ensuring you have the day of your dreams. With stunning lawns at the front of the hotel and speculator views of the surrounding rolling countryside, this hotel provides a relaxed yet romantic atmosphere. Within the ivy-covered historic building itself, there are four elegant function rooms to choose from depending on whether you want a small intimate meal for 10 or a party for up to 300 with a band and disco. Alternatively, there is a unique wedding pavilion set within the hotel’s eight acres of landscaped grounds featuring both air conditioning and heating – it’s the ideal place to host your ceremony and seats up to 80 guests. With panoramic views, this pavilion is a truly spectacular place to say “I do”.
The Orangery
The Orangery at Settrington is a sublime venue for an elegant wedding. Located in a tranquil village in Yorkshire, only 30 minutes from the city of York itself, The Orangery offers a charming and peaceful backdrop to one of the most important days in your life. The private House, which is not open to the public, features picturesque vistas such as the Statued Avenue, the Tempietto, the Millennium Fountain, and the Rose Colonnade. This venue is also one of the largest in North Yorkshire and is therefore ideal for larger celebrations. Guests can all be hosted in one room too, creating intimacy and shared enjoyment among those in attendance. Further, a dedicated team within The Orangery work tirelessly to create a bespoke menu to fit your big day, incorporating seasonal and local produce alongside any additional requirements you or your guest may have. This is a really interesting venue and place for me to cover your special day as a Wakefield Wedding Photographer. The combination of a bespoke package available for soon to be newlyweds and the exclusivity of the venue sets the tone for a truly memorable day.
Wakefield Town Hall
At Wakefield Town Hall, there are two beautiful rooms to choose from. The Lofthouse suite, for example, undoubtedly provides an elegant backdrop for a memorable day for you and your guests. Upon arrival, guests will be shown to the ceremony waiting room where they will be surrounded by fitted and embellished furniture including an affectionately restored grand piano. Inside the suite itself, you can find an old-fashioned grandfather clock lit delicately by beautiful chandelier lighting as well as a historic desk and chair set, ready for you to make your declaration of love for one another official. This suite provides the capacity for 60 guests to witness the ceremony. As an alternative, and for a more intricate setting, Wakefield Town Hall also offers ‘Room One’. Seating 35 guests, it is equally lavishly decorated with period pieces and includes an ornate mahogany fireplace, soft lighting via chandeliers, and another historic table for you to sign the registry and make history as a couple together. As a Wakefield Wedding Photographer, what better place could there be than the historical Wakefield Town Hall.
