Weddings across Yorkshire — my home, and my favourite place to work
Yorkshire is more than a patch on the map for me. It’s where I grew up, where I learned my craft, and where I’ve spent the last 25 years photographing couples on the best day of their lives. From a quiet ceremony in the Dales to a black-tie reception at Rudding Park, I’ve worked the length and breadth of this county — and I’ve still got favourites I couldn’t pick between.
If you’re planning a Yorkshire wedding, this page is a good place to start. I’ll tell you where I cover, the venues I know best, how I work, and what to expect.
Why couples across Yorkshire choose me
Areas I cover
North Yorkshire — York, Harrogate, Ripon, the Dales
From York’s medieval streets to the wild beauty of the Dales, North Yorkshire is where some of my most-loved weddings have happened. I regularly shoot at Grantley Hall near Ripon, Allerton Castle near Knaresborough, Rudding Park in Harrogate, and The Priest’s House at Barden — and I know the light at each of them like a friend’s face.
West Yorkshire — Leeds, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Bradford, Halifax
My home patch. Leeds is where I first photographed weddings, and I’ve since worked at every sort of venue across West Yorkshire — from the Georgian elegance of Manor House Lindley in Huddersfield, to the lakeside calm of Waterton Park in Wakefield, to the city-meets-country setting of Oulton Hall. If you’re planning a wedding in Leeds, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Bradford or Halifax, chances are I already know your venue.
South Yorkshire — Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Rotherham
South Yorkshire weddings take me regularly into Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham. Carlton Towers near Selby is a long-time favourite — a genuine stately home with one of the most photogenic long galleries in the country.
Beyond Yorkshire
I’m based here, but I travel. If you’re getting married further afield and you love my work, let’s talk. Many of my couples are Yorkshire-born but marrying elsewhere in the UK.
Yorkshire wedding venues I know inside out
I’m a recommended photographer at many of Yorkshire’s best-loved venues. Below are the ones I work at most often — the full venue directory with guides to each is on my Yorkshire wedding venues page.
My style — unobtrusive storytelling with moments of calm creativity
You won’t find me shouting across the room for people to look at the camera. My job is to disappear into your day and let it happen — the toast that turns into a laugh, the dad who can’t quite look at you during the speech, the quiet minute before the ceremony when everything suddenly feels real. Then, once or twice during the day, I’ll pull you aside for twenty minutes of creative portraits — somewhere quiet, no pressure, where we can make a handful of images that feel properly yours.
It’s a blend: documentary warmth and considered portraiture. Want a deeper read? How to choose your wedding photography style →

Frequently asked questions
Do you cover all of Yorkshire?
Yes — I regularly work across North, West, and South Yorkshire, with East Yorkshire and beyond on request. I’m based in West Yorkshire, so there are no travel charges within the county.
How far in advance should I book?
Most Yorkshire venues get booked 12–18 months out, and I’d recommend booking your photographer at the same time. Summer Saturdays go first.
Are you recommended at my venue?
I’m on the recommended supplier lists at Oulton Hall, Goldsborough Hall, Waterton Park, Rudding Park, Hazlewood Castle, Allerton Castle, Manor House Lindley, Carlton Towers, Grantley Hall, Temple Newsam, and The Priest’s House — plus I’ve worked at dozens more. Drop me your venue and I’ll tell you honestly.
What’s included in a full day?
Preparation to first dance — typically 10–11 hours of coverage. You get all edited digital images delivered via a private online gallery, a pre-wedding consultation, and (on most packages) a pre-wedding shoot.
Do you travel outside Yorkshire?
Yes. Many of my Yorkshire couples marry elsewhere in the UK, and I’m always happy to travel for the right day.
How do I check if you’re free on my date?
Drop me a message with your date and venue and I’ll come back to you the same day.
