Wedding Photography in Sheffield

As a wedding photographer based in Yorkshire, I originally started shooting weddings in Leeds. However, I now travel further afield across the UK and have worked at many venues across Huddersfield, Barnsley and Wakefield as well as Sheffield South Yorkshire.

Firstly, congratulations on your engagement!

From experience, I know that planning your wedding day can be overwhelming. I encourage you to look through my photos to see if I can tick off choosing wedding photographers from your list! Your wedding day is one of the most special and intimate days of your lives. As a wedding photographer, my aim is to document your day, allowing you to be taken back there every time you look at your wedding photos. At any wedding, I will capture all the little details that made your day so special, making those memories live on forever.

What to expect from me as your photographer

We will kick off proceedings with a meeting. This allows us to discuss your expectations and preferences. If you don’t have any preferences, then that’s fine too. We can explore styles of photography to find your taste. My job (if you choose me as your wedding photographer) is to tell the story of your wedding day, all through the art of photography.

I’ll capture all the lovely moments from your day

From the pride of the father of the bride walking you down the aisle to the smiling tears at the ceremony. Friends jostling to get their picture of you cutting the cake to the laughter at the wedding speeches. I will be there to capture it all. On top of these beautiful moments, I’ll make sure to snap your beautiful venue too so you can always remember exactly how it looked.

Camera shy? We can have a try out with a pre-wedding shoot.

Everyone is different. Some people love the experience of being in front of a camera, whilst others need some persuading (only a little). I want your experience to be the best it can be. I want you both to be as comfortable as you can be ao you can choose a style which works best for you. This is why I encourage a pre-wedding shoot to capture some portraits of you as a couple. This is one of the things that enable you to see my style and approach as a photographer.

Sheffield Manor Lodge

Sheffield Manor Lodge offers two unique venues within one site. Within Manor Lodge, the sixteenth-century Turret House provides a unique setting for an outdoor ceremony surrounded by their sweeping manicured grounds for up to 100 guests. Photo opportunities are aplenty – from the apothecary garden to the wildflower meadow aisle to the lavender labyrinth and the romantic Tudor ruins within the grounds. Alternatively, inside Turret House, for a more intimate affair, up to 25 of your closest family and friends can witness your views. There is also the option of Manor Oaks House and Barn, a traditional Georgian farmhouse with an enclosed garden, featuring original stonework and exposed wooden beams to create a sense of rustic charm. Sheffield Town Hall

Sheffield Town Hall is a stunning and unique Grade I listed build situated in the heart of the city of Sheffield. Steeped in history and grandeur, and with a selection of reception rooms on offer, it stands to reason that one of the most important days of your life be held here as it deserves a truly spectacular setting. With oak-panelled walls, a grand balcony ahead, and hanging chandeliers, there really is no other venue like this in the city centre. The elegant Mirror Room and the fabulous Mandela Room accommodate up to 120 guests each. Alternatively, the full Reception Suite is available for up to 220 guests depending on the size of your event. It is possible to add a room divider to later reveal the other room for a sit-down meal should you wish; many list this perk as a hot topic of discussion at their wedding! Regardless of where within the venue you choose, you are guaranteed to have the full support of staff and an event to remember for a lifetime.

Waterton Park Hotel Champagne fun!

Hodsock Priory

Steeped in hundreds of years of history, this fairy tale setting boasts a unique heritage – in fact, Hodsock Priory once entertained Henry VIII! Entering the Pannelled Hall, you can enjoy the paintings on display and admire the historic decoration in the room. There is also a grand staircase leading upstairs and an original 1864 Bechstein piano that guests are encouraged to play – there’s nothing more romantic than live piano and a glass of fizz after all! The Pavilion is the focal point of the house and a perfect backdrop for wedding photographs – with sizeable windows all around, and doors opening onto the manicured gardens, this room is filled with natural light and an aura of relaxed elegance. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, this beautiful Tudor country house offers a timeless and inspiring blend of grand surroundings, delicious food, and unrivalled personal service to make your big day one to cherish.

Tapton Hall

Nestled away in the area of Crosspool, Sheffield, this elegant nineteenth-century building is a delightful setting to hold the perfect Wedding affair. It has a unique history and distinctive architecture really add to the grandness of any occasion. Accentuating this is the original grand entrance upon arrival, featuring a magnificent staircase leading up to a picture gallery on the first floor.  Interestingly, for history lovers out there, this site once belonged to Mary Shore, the grandmother of Florence Nightingale and the young Florence often visited the house. All the rooms at Tapton Hall are filled with charm and character, adding to the joy and warmth of your special day. Further, the wedding coordinator will help ensure your wedding is individually planned to suit you; from which banqueting suite to host your breakfast and reception to which delicious menu to choose from; it’s bound to be an unforgettable day.

Whirlowbrook Hall

Imagine a spacious and beautiful venue with 39 acres of perfectly manicured gardens that is just four miles from Sheffield City centre – that’s exactly what you are getting with Whirlowbrook Hall! Located on the Yorkshire and Derbyshire border, Whirlowbrook Hall sits high on an elevated terrace overlooking its gardens. It was originally a manor house built in 1906 and still retains many of its original features such as gorgeous woodwork and ornate fireplaces throughout. Fortunately, the neutral décor present means you can dress the venue to match the colour scheme you have in mind. Adding to the benefits of this location is their strict exclusivity policy which means you will have sole use of the venue, including a room in which to get ready, and a ‘chill-out’ room. Though they offer premade wedding packages, they are just a guide and if they don’t suit exactly what you are looking for then you can contact them for a bespoke quotation.

Whitley Hall Hotel

Whitley Hall Hotel looks like the house of every young girls’ dreams – it is a picture-perfect ivy-clad sixteenth-century mansion with multiple windows symmetrically flanking the door. Inside, traditional wood panels line the walls and a majestic central fireplace oozes romantic charm. Another room, The Parker Suite, has an original stone wall and boasts a private heated terrace as well as a lake and a pier. All of this is nestled in a peaceful valley surrounded by twenty acres of stunning gardens and grounds in which to shoot fantastic wedding memories after having exchanged your vows. Once your guests have danced the night away, Whitley Hall offers 32 en-suite bedrooms that are all individually designed and decorated to reflect the traditional architecture with exposed wooden beams and stone walls while providing modern luxuries such as whirlpool baths to ensure all ends on a happy note. This venue is a really interesting one for me to work at as a Sheffield Wedding Photographer and the ideal backdrop for your wedding photography.

Wood Lane Countryside Centre

Set in the suburbs of Stannington, between the Rivelin and Loxley valleys, this Countryside Centre, a two-hundred-year-old Georgian stone-built farm, used to be a working property. Today, its layout offers unique flexibility to design your own wedding day to make the most of the space as you’d like. If you decide to hire the venue, you gain exclusive access to the whole site, including two different barns, several reception rooms, a large catering kitchen, courtyards, and gardens. The Grain Loft is one particularly popular room as it has been beautifully renovated and updated but maintains its original charm and character with original oak beams, wooden floor, and stone walls. The large, scenic grounds around the property also provide the space to place a marquee or Tipi with a beautifully restored bandstand to enjoy your favourite music on your big day.

Woodthorpe Hall

Situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park in North Derbyshire, Woodthorpe Hall is a private seventeenth-century country house set in a large colourful garden. While they do not offer legal ceremonies, should you wish to celebrate your marriage you can do so in the Oak Belvedere or the in the cider press on-site, with covered seating for up to 80 guests. Should you require more space for the reception, on its beautiful gardens you can place a marquee for up to 150 people to join in. This gorgeous venue is a family-run business. To ensure the grounds are at their most stunning, they only host eight weddings a year between May and September, adding an aura of exclusivity to your event. While there is no dedicated website for this venue, the best way to get in touch is to contact the owner directly or you can find the space on Facebook.
